Your child or teen is acting out, misbehaving, isolating, not paying attention and you feel exhausted. You’ve decided you need some extra support and are looking for the right person to connect with your child to help manage the emotions that are flying around in big ways.
You can expect an environment with me where you and your child can begin to feel capable, connected, important, and courageous. Through play therapy, sand, arts and activities, your child will be able to navigate life in a healthier and more adaptive way. You will see an increase in happiness, self-esteem, and an ability to communicate and regulate emotions productively. As parents, you will learn to utilize your own relationship with your child as a way to create change, empowering you with skills to better discipline with love. You will feel more confident and secure in not only your parenting, but your relationship with your child. Your happy, fun, loving child will return for you to enjoy again.
You might not be a parent, but an adult looking for help for yourself. You are an independent, hard-working professional, who feels constantly overwhelmed or in conflict in your relationships. You are motivated to make changes and would like some guidance on how to live a happier, more fulfilled life. You’d like to resolve conflicts within your family or friends, feeling more confident in yourself and how you respond to others. In adult counseling, you will be able to reduce your anxiety through a variety of therapeutic interventions including, talk therapy, exploration of family history, arts, sand, and homework assignments. You might feel awkward at first exploring your past experiences, but I will help you work to gain more insight and encouragement for your future. You are not alone.
As a graduate of the University of North Texas Clinical and Mental Health Program, I have had great experiences working with people of all ages in creating change for hope and healing. My passion is rooted from my studies abroad in Kenya, learning about children’s experiences with lack of resources, care and a sense of belonging. It is my hope to help foster a sense of secure identity and healthy relationships in children, teenagers, parents, and adults. When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, doing yoga, going on walks, watching movies and reading.
Together, with your commitment and investment, your journey of healing is just a click away. Contact me today to take your first step towards resolution.
