Madelyn “Madee” Hayes

Your child has been bullied, feels overwhelmed easily, and has had difficulty making friends. You have talked with the school, neighbors, friends, and family and haven’t reached any solutions. You’re looking for a professional to help you and your child walk through the difficulties of social and societal pressures with strategies to implement.

Your teen may be showing signs of anxiety or depression and are having difficulty feeling confident and capable in their world. You’ve done everything possible to help and everyone just feels stuck. You, and your kid, are curious and willing to try a new intervention to rediscover hope and joy in your life.

I am your expert child therapist. As a counselor formally trained in Play Therapy, I create a safe space for children to communicate and express themselves in the way they know best. Play Therapy can help children understand what they are feeling and why, help them make choices, understand consequences, and help them understand appropriate boundaries. This process helps children understand how to face the problems, whether big or small, that they will encounter and equips them with the tools to be able to work through them so they can be the best versions of themselves.

For teens and adults, I love including sandtray, guided meditation and art therapy when appropriate to fit your style and needs. I also incorporate talk therapy with a more directive style if you are a person needing a no-nonsense approach. Working with individuals is a balance to meet you where you are yet help you gain perspectives and resolution within yourself and your world.

I know that life can be hard whether it be things current, or things past. I believe every person, young or old, has the ability to help themselves and I love being the person to walk alongside you to help you find that. I value you, where you are now, and want to help you heal and grow to your fullest potential.

Outside of work I love trying new coffee shops, especially when I can be outside. Sunshine is soothing for the soul! During the fall you can always find me enjoying the cooler weather and watching college football!

Contact me to work together to help you and your family find joy again.
